Starkey, the Stockport based hearing aid manufacturer have recently launched the new Starkey S Series range of hearing aids. The new range employs Starkey’s ‘Drive Architecture’, it uses multi-core processing, similar to the technology you might see in your newer computers, to provide three times more processing power than previous hearing aid circuits for great performance.

Starkey state that the new S Series offers ‘comfortable, high-resolution sound with smoother, seamless transitions between quiet and loud environments.’ Because of the extra processing power this technology can more easily eliminate feedback, provide good performance in background noise, enhance telephone listening and keep track of information about the hearing aid itself.

I thought I’d post a link to an interesting video posted by our friends at Crystal Hearing (covering the south east and London).The video shows how an interesting feature called Zoom Control works and how it can help with speech in background noise.

The feature is available on a number of Phonak hearing aids,  namely Phonak Exelia Art, Phonak Audeo YES IX and Phonak Naida IX. ZoomControl is accessed by the Phonak MyPilot remote control on all three models, and also via pushbutton on the Phonak Exelia Art and Phonak Naida IX if you have one.
