Archive for July 2009Hearing Aids and Credit Crunch - Are people shopping around more?23/07/2009 by admin.
It’s a funny thing, for the last year our customers (and potential customers) keep asking me the same question, ‘How is the credit crunch affecting business?’ All I can say is that for us at Digital Hearing Care we really have not noticed a downturn in the amount of hearing aids we are supplying, in fact the opposite seems to be happening, our turnover is up by around 45%. We are covering a really diverse area, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Manchester, with a real mix of urban and rural population. We have always concentrated on providing great aftercare as well as offering low prices and, being independent, offering a far wider range of hearing aids than most of the competition. The key to our increasing level of hearing aids supplied lies in my opinion in good old fashioned customer care and attention to detail. We have been trading for quite a few years now and never become complacent. The people that already deal with us seem in the main to want to stay with us and we regularly receive recommendations from satisfied customers. I think one of the reasons our business is increasing in tough trading conditions when the majority of our competition is struggling is because the current economic climate makes people more wary of spending their hard earned money, people want to know that they will receive good value for money. People are definitely shopping around a lot more, that can only be good for the consumer, and it helps a company like Digital Hearing Care to prosper as we offer some of the lowest prices around. People are doing more research on the internet and are becoming more brand aware, we regularly have customers asking us for specific models of hearing aids which did not seem to happen much in the past. That makes conditions favourable for us as independent hearing aid audiologists as we can offer the full range of hearing aids available in the UK where the national companies as a general rule do not. All this along with our great aftercare service has meant that, against the trend, Digital Hearing Care are growing to be one of the the main independent suppliers of quality digital hearing aids in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Manchester. We will always do our utmost to ensure we supply hearing aids with competitive pricing and once you’re a customer we’ll do everything we can to make sure you stay satisfied. Posted in Hearing Aids | No Comments » Oticon Hearing Aids - Oticon Connectline Bluetooth TV and Telephone Senders08/07/2009 by admin.
Oticon Hearing Aids have just launched a new line of connectivity options to work with their very successful Oticon Streamer accessory, Oticon Connectline, specifically to help with watching television and having conversations on the telephone or mobile phone. There are a couple of interesting features to note. One is that the Oticon Streamer, after a firmware update if you previously bought one in the past, can connect to up to 4 devices at the same time, also with an autoconnect. Here is how it would work in practice; You have your Oticon Streamer connected to your television via the Oticon Connectline TV Adapter, you have your landline telephone connected to your Oticon Streamer via the Oticon Connectline Telephone Adapter, your mobile phone and your bluetooth MP3 player are connected directly to your Oticon Streamer as they emit a bluetooth signal.
You are watching your television with sound input directly into your hearing aids, the mobile or landline telephone rings. You hear the ringtone directly in your hearing aids and your Oticon Streamer starts flashing. You press the button, the television mutes and you have your telephone conversation. You hang up by pressing the button and the TV reconnects automatically. You pop out to the shops and your Oticon Streamer disconnects from the devices as they are out of range. You arrive back at home and all the devices you have connected to your Oticon steamer reconnect automatically. Cool! The accessories are priced reasonably, the beauty is you don’t have to bother with any of the accessories if you don’t feel the need at the time, they can be added later if you have a change of heart. Sometimes some of the manufacturers could be accused of releasing new technology just for the sake of offering new product, we think these new hearing aid accessories are well worth considering, a nice smart easy solution that is well thought out. If you want more information about the new Oticon Connectline products or would like to arrange a free hearing test please browse to our main website and click on the contacts page to get in touch.
